I LOVE this gun, but decided to thin my collection out a bit. This is a 100% authentic Cold War era Soviet SKS. It was made in 1954 at the Tula factory in Russia. This also has the shiny bayonet, which is the rarer and more desirable version (the bayonet alone is worth over $100, but hopefully the buyer will keep it with the rifle). Some of the early SKS's had the the polished bayonet, but most didn't, or had them painted over during refurbishment by the Russians.
If you are a serious SKS collector, then you know what I am talking about. This is the real deal. They won't be making or importing any more Russian SKS's into the USA ever again. The price will only continue to rise. Thanks for looking.
