Old Smoke is a retired hand carried many years on an Arizona ranch as a working sidearm. Definitely a cowboy gun. I have owned this neat old piece for several years and am simply downsizing my collection. I have a Super Blackhawk 3-screw and that's enough.
This Ruger .44-magnum Blackhawk was manufactured in 1962 and has the 6-1/2" barrel of that time. It's the Blackhawk designation since the Super Blackhawk was not yet in existence. It wears an earned patina finish, I've never been able to bring myself to send it off to Ruger to re-blue for several reasons.
First, once it's done, it's done
My other reason is, this fine revolver came by the patina finish with age and regular carry. Besides, Uberti charges extra money for their "Antique" washed finish. A re-blue should be decided by the next owner.
I have never came across an old Three Screw with this kind of seasoned wear without seeing pitting or worse. There is no pitting on this revolver.
The timing is excellent with only the faintest turn ring on the cylinder, a testament to Ruger's fine craftsmanship of the day.
Lock-up it strong and tight with no cylinder play.
Bore and cylinders are in fine shape with plenty of lands and grooves. It's obvious that it was worn in a holster but must have been wiped down regularly
Certainly not worn out from shooting. I have no way of knowing how many rounds have been fired through it, but I've never seen one worn out from shooting.
Included is the old vintage Hunter holster Old Smoke rode in for decades. This revolver also has a set of vintage Jay Scott faux stag grips of the period. There is no box or original grips. It shoots true and will get the job done every time.

This rifle has been well cared for and cleaned after every session, regardless of how many rounds were fired. Of course, there's some very light wear, but all guns have that!
Comes with Troy H&K flip up iron sights, factory magazine, two PMAGS with windows connected with a maglink, 100 rounds of Federal .223, 40 round of Tula .223 and sling. It will come with original box as well.
