(Tampa/St. Pete) (10) 10 Gauge Flares - White Star in Sealed Tuna Can - $ 100

$

This is a rare factory sealed can of 10 gauge "white star" flare ammo that was made for the war effort by Rochester Fireworks Company in February 1944. However as the war was starting to wind down - some of this ammo went unused so it was repacked into sealed tuna cans (of 10 rounds each) by the manufacturer in October of 1945. Then some of these ended up finding their way to the surplus market at some point. This is the correct flare ammo for all those Remington, H&R, and Sedgley flare pistols out there that are chambered for 10 gauge. You can look, and look and look some more and may never find another sealed can of these flares. They are quite unusual & collectible. I obtained some of these in a blind box lot purchase at the estate sale of an old military collector who passed away. Asking $100 for the sealed can. I see these same flares for sale from time to time on the gun auction sites and asking price is usually about $25 per round. Pick them up in Brandon and you must be at least 18 to purchase. p.s. As these flares are packed in a sealed can that has remained unopened since 1945 - I cannot speak to or guarantee their condition. However I feel reasonably sure they are all live and useable. They were canned about 18 months after they were manufactured and this particular can shows no visible signs of damage, tampering, or corrosion, and the fact is that it's in unbelievable shape for being over 68 years old.

(Tampa/St. Pete) East German Makarov, 95%+, with Ammo & Many Accessories - $ 800

This is a pristine East German Makarov in 9x18 caliber that I bought many years ago and never shot. It comes with it's original import box and still has the distributor's rack tag in place along with the original safety hang tag. Most agree that the Makarov produced by East Germany is the finest ever made. Fit and finish is certainly far superior to the Russian & Bulgarians I've seen. The bluing is deep and dark with a high polish that looks like what you'd find on a high end Colt, but certainly not on a military pistol. Action is silky smooth and tolerances are tight. I'd rate this pistol at a conservative 95%. There is little wear and the bore is absolutely mirror bright. It was made in 1962 and all numbers match except for the mags which are not factory numbered. Included: Original E. German brown leather holster in excellent shape with a correct Makarov (screwdriver tip) cleaning rod. Four original E. German magazines all in very good or better condition. Correct E. German black rope lanyard. A spare set of real Russian Red Star thumb rest grips with lanyard loop, screw & Russian leather lanyard. (in case you want to dress it up to look like a Russian). Federal Arms stainless steel threaded barrel in .380ACP. These are very hard to find today and this one is new/unfired in original packaging. A SIONICS style FAKE suppressor in blue steel that's designed to work with the threaded Federal barrel. This will look "super bad" when installed. 250 rounds of fresh SILVER BEAR 9x18 ammo. Zinc plated steel cases, 94 grain FMJ bullets, non-corrosive. Great target & blasting ammo. Asking $800 everything listed above. FTF local sale only to a Florida Resident who is at least 21 and is legally able to own a firearm. A proper bill of sale will be provided.

(Tampa/St. Pete) 1891 Argentine Mauser - 95%+ w/Solingen Brass Grip Bayonet - $ 650

For sale today is a rifle that I've had on display in my home for the last 30 years. It's a Mauser Model of 1891 made by Loewe of Berlin for Argentina. Many consider the Model of 1891 Mauser's greatest work, and the most beautiful of all the his rifles. Craftsmanship and attention to detail was at a peak when this rifle was made and is very evident when inspecting it. Fit between wood and metal is simply excellent, and the machining of all the metal parts is second to none. The bolt is highly polished and actually appears to be chrome plated, but is not. I'd rate the overall condition of the rifle at a conservative 95%. There are no traces of rust or corrosion and the wood is superb with only the slightest of handling and storage marks. The bore is excellent as well. Crest on this rifle has been removed like nearly all of them because Argentina required it before export. However work was done precisely and there is no ugly scar as a result. Then someone at some point touched up the bluing where the crest was so you have to look close to be able to tell there was a crest there to begin with. I've owned the rifle for 30 years and didn't do this work so it was completed a long time ago. Every part that has a number matches including the receiver, barrel, bolt, stock, magazine, and even the cleaning rod. Additionally I cannot find any importer's mark on the rifle anywhere. Bottom line is that this is a 1 in 100 rifle that I doubt you could improve on it. This is also the reason I can't let the rifle go for a few hundred dollars like some of the similar but lesser rifles I see advertised from time to time. This rifle is superior to the vast majority and that is the basis for value with collectible military antique firearms. This rifle shoots the 7.65 x 53mm Argentine Mauser cartridge. Ammo is readily available from PPU, Graf, S&B, plus a few others, and it's relatively inexpensive. You can find it at Sportsman Guide, Aim Surplus, Graf &Sons, and Cabela's to name a few. Rifle comes with a correct leather sling and a model of 1891 Solingen bayonet with brass grips. The brass grip bayonet was only made between 1892 and mid-1893. After which the grip material was switched to aluminum in order to lighten the bayonet and reduce it's cost. There were about 40,000 bayonets produced with the brass grips as compared to about 190,000 with the aluminum. This bayonet is in excellent condition and ones in similar condition sell on eBay for as much as $200 by themselves. Asking price is $650 includes the bayonet. I also have two boxes of PPU modern production, brass case, non-corrosive ammo that will go with this rifle. The rifle is considered to be an antique so it's not subject to same rules as modern firearms. Buyer must simple be at least 18 years old. Transaction is FTF with pickup in Brandon.
