(Fort Collins) S&W Super 12 model 1000 3" w/extra shorter barrel - $ 550
This is a nice autoloader made in the early 80's that I have used on a half-dozen hunts. It has the vent rib 28" barrel that takes the Winchoke, Browning Invector (older style) Mossberg tubes and comes with 8 choke tubes from Cylinder to extra-full plus a turkey choke. The extra barrel at 22" is a great addition. A company out of Georgia cut the vent rib barrel, turned down the end then installed a full size threaded bushing that will accept the same choke tubes as the original barrel. Most mods like this use a thin wall choke tube that goes internal to the barrel where this one goes full size. Its in 95% condition with no rust and only very minor scrapes. Barrels are clean and bright. I also removed the thick recoil pad that gives a standard 14 1/4" LOP and fit a regular buttplate that gives a 13 1/4" LOP. Works great for shorter shooters/heavy hunting clothes or put the pad back on for the big guys. This is one of the first autoloaders that reliably cycles the light 2 3/4-3" loads. It holds 4 rounds with pin removed or 3 with pin in place. I bought an 870 3 1/2" super mag is the only reason it is being offered and mostly shoot 20ga anyway. Bought this one new in 1998 and its the Gart Brothers limited edition. It is in excellent condition as I have fired mostly 240gr lead .44 specials in it as the .44 mags are just uncomfortable to shoot. It has the 3" full lug barrel, non-fluted cylinder, Bear etched on the right side panel and round butt grip. It weighs 39.5oz and is pretty easy to carry. Priced firm as a similar 4 magnaport 629 (no bear) closed on GB for $1398! I have the original box with all the paperwork and no other accesories come with it.
