Not one of the commercial copies, this is the real deal, a No5Mk1, commonly called a jungle carbine by many.
Dated 3/45, it was manufactured at the Royal Ordnance Factory Fazakerly, chambered in the British 303 round.
The magazine has a 10-round capacity, and is fed by 5 round stripper clips. It has the correct 800 yard rear flip up sight, and there's plenty of clearance under it as a result of the lightening cuts done to these original jungle carbines.
The receiver, bolt, and wrist have the matching serial number H59xx (No5 Mk1 carbines only have 4 numbers following the letter prefix). Additionally, the wrist is marked FMP which stands for Federation of Malay Police, making this one of the No 5s sent to the post-war Malayan Emergency.
This rifle has been there and done that and looks like it was carried a lot but shot very little. It is in good overall condition, with a good bore and solid stock.
There's a very small CAI import mark near the end the barrel.
