(Dallas) Winchester 94, made 1895 - $ 1,800
This is an excellent second tear production Winchester 94, 30 WCF (30-30), with 5 digit S/N 28xxx. As you would expect the bluing is gone, but the metal shows no signs of abuse. The barrel is like new and the action is tight which leads me to believe it was a police of Sheriff's rack gun used on rare ocassions when they needed a rifle for mounted patrol. The wood shows wear from 120 years of banging around and someone carved an "O" into the butt stock. No idea whether that was a persons initial, ranch brand, or county ID. Rifles were tools not display items like today, but this one would be a conversation piece while still being fully ready to take down a deer. I've seen refurbished Winchester 94's go for outrageous prices and this would be a good candidate to do just that, but I'm selling it in its present condition for $1800. This is a Swiss based manufacturer of high quality pistols used mainly by special forces, elite police units and sports shooters. This machine-tool and engineering company started in the gunmaking business when it acquired gunmaker ITM of Solothurn in 1989, along with the rights to its handgun designs. Sphinx is best known for its ongoing development of the original Czech designed CZ 75 pistol, which has been evolved into the Sphinx 2000 and Sphinx 3000 designs. About the Cartridge:
Designed by John Browning and introduced by Fabrique Nationale of Belgium, this cartridge has achieved world-wide acceptance and has even been adopted as the standard pistol cartridge by several governments. One reason for the round's success is that it is the largest practical cartridge that can be easily adapted to small automatic pocket pistols. Ballistics fall far short of even the 9mm Luger, but still prove adequate for most self-defense situations. Little over 300 rounds through it give or take and only had problems when I was learning how to use it but once you get the hang of it it won't jam.
Will include 25 rounds of buckshot.
